The installation process differs slightly between Java and Bedrock. Follow the steps for your edition below.
Click the download link for your chosen map and save the ZIP or folder to your computer.
Right-click the downloaded file and extract it. You should get a folder — not a ZIP inside a ZIP.
Press Win + R, type %appdata%\.minecraft\saves, and press Enter.
Copy the extracted map folder into the saves directory, then launch Minecraft and select it from Singleplayer.
Make sure you are downloading the Bedrock version of the map, which ends in .mcworld.
On Android or Windows, simply tap or double-click the .mcworld file. Minecraft will automatically import it.
Open Minecraft Bedrock, go to Play, and find the map in your worlds list. It imports automatically.
Most community-made custom maps are completely free to download. Some map packs available through the official Minecraft Marketplace require payment, but the maps listed on this page are free community creations.
Yes — multiplayer maps support multiple players. For Java Edition, host the world and invite friends via LAN or a server. For Bedrock, use Realms or the built-in invite system.
Not always. Each map page lists its recommended version. Playing on a version too old or too new can break redstone, custom commands, or structure generation. Always match the map's listed version.
Java maps use a folder-based format while Bedrock uses .mcworld files. They are not directly interchangeable — always download the version made for your edition. Some maps offer both versions separately.
We review community map submissions regularly. Use the Contact Us page to send your map link, description, and screenshots. Maps that meet our quality standards will be featured in the next update.
